A note of thanks

As the year winds down, we want to share our heartfelt gratitude to our friends, customers, and supporters who make our artisan work possible. From handmade paper and letterpress printing to vibrant in-store events and travels near and far, it’s a joy to connect with you.
hello friends of oblation papers & press,
as this busy year is coming to an end, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to you, who have supported our little artisan enterprise here in portland and our ever-evolving companion website.
as you may know, oblation papers & press has been making handmade paper since 1989, and offering it, along with other stationery treasures from around the world, since 1998 when we opened our retail store and studios in the pearl district.
in the past few months, we have exhibited our letterpress goods at bridal shows, fountain pen gatherings, japanese stationery festivals and nyc trade shows ... an exhilarating year!
and our in-store events have been livelier than ever. such a fun time to be immersed in the fine papers and pens community.
likely you are already receiving our occasional emails that announce things like custom nib grinding, leuchtturm journal personalization, and letterpress wedding invitation events, but if not you can sign up here.
as founders of this small company, we love hearing so many stories of how our 'paris flea market' environment gives joy to those who stop by from time to time to poke around.
you may have noticed that ron has a little vintage jazz guitar shop hidden next to our invitation gallery, which is open wednesday afternoons and by appointment.
jennifer has been helping to establish a modern scriptorium in greece, leading workshops in hand-papermaking, letterpress printing and bookbinding there.
and our amazing staff of trained artisans and stationery experts continue to offer the quality work of their hands and hearts, to ensure that you receive the highest level of paper goods possible.
together, we all recognize that oblation papers & press would not exist without you, our loyal friends and customers. and for this, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
with gratitude,
jennifer and ron rich
