We produce 100% recycled cotton sheets of paper by hand at our urban paper mill in Portland, Oregon. Soft deckled edges are formed as each sheet is drawn from a vat of water and pulp. Due to the natural, handmade quality, paper may vary slightly in thickness, color, and texture. Our paper is strong, acid-free and produced with remnants from the garment industry. Deckled, cut edges, or rounded corners can be substituted on most designs (may affect pricing).
Our Tuscan paper is 100% cotton, mould made in Italy, and is available with a single deckled edge, cut edges, or rounded corners (does not affect pricing). Museum board is 100% cotton, 4-ply, and is available with cut edges, or rounded corners (does not affect pricing). Foxing may vary from sheet to sheet and is only available with cut edges in the sizes of pocket and pocket fold. Beach paper is made from recycled fiber in the USA. The birch veneer comes with a kraft paper backing and is produced from sustainably harvested forests.
All orders include blank envelopes, most made from 30% PCW content or produced from sustainable forests. Please note that bamboo envelopes are not available in pocket size. Five additional envelopes will be provided without charge for each order.
Handmade paper envelopes are available in all sizes for an additional cost. Please see price HMP1, HMP2, and HMP3. Please have handmade paper envelopes hand-cancelled at your local post office. We recommend using outer machine-made envelopes to help protect the soft handmade paper envelopes when they are mailed.
Outer machine-made envelopes are available for 5x7, 6x6, and regal folded and flat invitations in cream and white. Please see price B.
Envelopes are fully lined by hand. Any liner shown with our samples may be used in combination with any size or color envelope. Please see price E. You may also provide your own paper. Contact us for further instruction.
Translucent vellum inserts are recommended for all white or cream invitations with black envelopes or liners, as well as orders printed on black paper using white envelopes. They will be provided with order at no charge.
Cream tissue paper slip sheets are available upon request for an additional $50 per job.
All of the designs in this portfolio are printed by antique letterpress using soy inks and wind power. This historic method of printing uses raised type and images. The text and images are made into plates which are literally “pressed” into the paper, leaving a distinctive and elegant impression in the surface of each hand-fed sheet.
Any ink color shown on our swatches page may be used on any design. Please note that paper color will affect ink color. Ink coverage varies depending on the design and paper type. Additional ink colors may be added for an extra fee. Custom Pantone ink colors are available for $95 each.
Foil stamping is available in bright or matte silver, antique or bright gold, rose gold, copper, champagne, white, or black. Custom colors are available for an additional charge. Please contact us for further information. Maximum surface coverage to be no more than 4 x 6 inches. Due to the size limitations, some designs are not available for this process. Rush service is not available due to the plate making process.
Handmade wax seals are available in the sample colors and motifs shown (see price code F). Custom motifs can be created for an additional fee (Retail: $145.00, Wholesale: $72.50) in which case the custom brass stamper and wooden handle would ship with the order. Custom artwork fees may apply. Wax seals can be shipped loose along with glue dots or come adhered to the requested items. Please have all envelopes containing wax seals hand-cancelled at your local post office.
We do not recommend using wax seals on outer envelopes.
Any font combination from the font list may be chosen for all invitations shown. You can also provide us with your own fonts. Please contact us for further instructions.
Foreign language, calligraphy, or custom artwork may be printed using customer-provided files. There is a $50 charge for this service as long as the artwork does not require adjustment. Artwork must be provided as black & white JPEG or PDF files. The recommended resolution is 600+ dpi. You may email digital files to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please reference customer’s name with the file. Design services are available for an additional charge of $50/hour (half hour minimum).
Typesetting in foreign language is available. Digital files or hard copies may be required for some languages. Please contact us for specific instructions and pricing.
We are happy to assist you with custom pricing. Please fill out this form to request a price quotes. Pricing for quantities over 500 is available upon inquiry.
The first set of proofs is $10 and is mandatory. Each additional set is $10. A confirmation of receipt should be expected within one business day of placing your order. Proofs are generally provided via email within four business days. Please keep in mind that color proofs must not be used as a reference for the ink colors.
Orders will be shipped two weeks from the date of final proof approval. An emailed approval confirmation should be expected within one business day. Large handmade paper orders may require up to three weeks due to the papermaking process. Please see pricing for shipping rates.
Rush orders ship five business days after final proof approval for an additional 25% surcharge on the total order. Please see pricing for shipping rates. Rush service is not available for foil stamping and may take longer than five business days for orders of considerable size.
Printed envelopes can be provided in advance for a fee of $95 ($50 for blank envelopes) plus the cost of shipping and will ship within five business days. More time may be required for large orders of handmade paper envelopes.
All orders will be shipped ground unless expedited shipping is requested. In addition, each shipped parcel is insured for the full value of its contents. Signatures are required upon receipt for all dropship orders.
If an order is cancelled after a proof has been provided, a $50 cancellation fee will be charged. If an order is cancelled after final proof approval, customer will also be responsible for the cost of any work completed.
