here at oblation papers & press, our handmade paper is simply too good to let any go to waste! that’s why we’ve created this new handmade paper scrap pack, to utilize the beautiful leftover fragments and off cuts. each is one of a kind, and filled to the brim with quality papers ranging in size (up to 8.5 x 11"), color, and finish. these packs are curated by hand to ensure a colorful collection of unique handmade paper goodies, just waiting to be used.
about our handmade paper:
we make our handmade paper in house using 100% recycled cotton remnants from the garment industry. we charge our vats with water and cotton fibers, draw our molds and deckles through this slurry nearly 70 times per day, then drain, deposit (couch) onto lightweight felts, and press the post of wet sheets under hydraulic pressure. we air dry these sheets overnight and pull them from the felts each morning into deckled stacks of rough edged handmade paper, with stunning surface texture.oblation was founded on practicing a green approach and we follow recycling principals that focus on reuse and conservation. our master paper maker kalin stoev leads the handmade paper production process and on most days can be found in the paper-making studio mixing paper pulp, pulling paper, or experimenting.
